  Lost within the veils of grief; one parted and pushed aside reveals another. The sheets of grey surround me like an encircling shroud, a winding sheet to hold me fast in stillness and blind me in an eternal silence with no breath left to scream. Entombed in a sadness that has hollowed me, torn out my heart with quiet violence; I am dead, endlessly searching for my grave. Exhausted, only wanting to lay my head beneath the soil in fervent hope of the longest, dreamless sleep.

  In October 2021 Tom Reynolds unveiled Shadows Without Light: Part One, the first part of what is ultimately to become a trilogy of Foul Body Autopsy EPs; adventurous and ambitious in their musical scope, painful and honest in their lyrical endeavour. Having already tackled the difficult subject of mental health on his Consumed By Black Thoughts release, with the Shadows Without Light trilogy Tom explores the concepts of grief and loss. The songs are a record of Tom’s own personal experience as he navigates the often overwhelming tides of sorrow that accompany bereavement. He hopes that these musical records can maybe “help someone else along the way.”

  Shadows Without Light: Part Two follows the same compositional structure as the highly praised ...Part One; featuring three different interpretations of the same song. Shadows Pt Two opens the new EP in a cascade of magnificent, melodic death metal, with punchy riffs and wonderfully executed guitar lines flashing rapier like above forceful drumming and raw, heartfelt vocals. This is the Foul Body Autopsy sound that fans have come to expect from recent releases – sharp, incisive extreme metal delivered with emotion and swathed in atmosphere – and it just gets better all the time. The remaining two tracks are Shadows Pt Two (Synth Wave Remix) and Shadows Pt Two (Hybrid Remix). The Synth Wave Remix takes Foul Body Autopsy into a completely new sphere of music, the guitars abandoned for a hypnotic, gothic dance beneath cold, pale moonlight. Meanwhile the Hybrid Remix fuses the two styles, blending elements of both approaches to create a third, unique interpretation. The three tracks are bonded in spirit yet each offer something brilliantly individual.

  The complete Shadows Without Light: Part One creative team remains intact for ...Part Two, with producer extraordinaire Russ Russell (Amorphis, At The Gates, Napalm Death etc) creating the rich layers of sound and Arif Rot of Wormrot again creating the stunning, unmistakeable art work. On May 1st be ready to step once more into the troubled world of Foul Body Autopsy and follow Tom Reynolds through the next chapter of his odyssey of loss.
